Riverside Murder Suspect Arrested

Riverside Murder Suspect Arrested
Vanessa Michelle Mihajson, 20, is accused of murder in connection with the death of Shalonda Morris in October 2007 in Palm Desert. Mihajson took part in a drug related robbery of the victim after she was murdered. Mihajson's brother, Dean Mihajson was arrested shortly after the incident and is awaiting trial on murder charges with special circumstances for lying in wait and robbery.
In November 2008, Riverside County authorities issued a $1 million warrant for Vanessa Mihajson. In February, Mihajson was placed on the county's most wanted list of fugitives. Authorities were able to track Mihajson via her MySpace page, which pinpointed her location in Havelock, NC. Local law enforcement officials arrested Mihajson there. She was extradited to California earlier this month. Vanessa Mihajson also faces special circumstances of lying in wait and robbery. If convicted, she faces the death penalty, although the prosecutor has not yet determined whether to seek it.
