The Oxnard and Ventura Police Departments reported that they had made seven DUI arrests over the weekend. The departments worked in tandem in Oxnard to effect DUI arrests on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
In addition to the seven DUI arrests, 53 other drivers were issued citations for other infractions and nine vehicles were towed. The Oxnard and Ventura DUI enforcement exercise was funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety to reduce drunken driving accidents in the area.
