Victorville Man Arrested On Attempted Murder, Drug Charges
A Victorville man, who police say was in a drug-induced rage, seriously injured his three children and their mother with a box cutter. The three children were hospitalized with injuries to their faces, heads, necks and hands. One child's finger was nearly severed in the attack.
Police were called to the Red Roof Inn on Mariposa Road early Tuesday in response to a domestic violence call. Another hotel guest threatened the man, Esteban Saracho, with a rifle, and he barricaded himself in his room with his three young daughters, ages 5, 3 and seven months. When police ordered Saracho to unlock the door, the children began screaming. Police broke a window to gain access to the room, and subdued Saracho with a Taser and non-lethal beanbag projectiles. The two older children were airlifted to the Loma Linda Medical Center, and the infant was taked to the same hospital by ambulance.
Saracho was arrested and is expected to face three charges of attempted murder, domestic abuse, aggravated mayhem, resisting arrest and drug charges. He is also due back in court to respond to an outstanding warrant for domestic violence and failure to appear in court. He is currently being held at the West Valley Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
If you've been arrested on drug charges, or face additional charges related to a drug-induced assault, you need highly skilled legal representation in court. The court views crimes against children very harshly, so you need to be prepared with the best possible criminal defense.
