Simi Valley Officers On Lunch Break Arrest Los Angeles County Car Thief
Two police officers in Simi Valley who were finishing up a meal at a restaurant are being credited with the arrest of a car thief. While inside a Denny's restaurant on Sycamore, the officers overheard a telephone call another diner had placed to an acquaintance, seeking a ride home. The caller indicated that he thought the police were watching him.
The officers followed the caller, who fled the scene, but a few minutes later, the caller's friend arrived to pick him up. The officers checked the license plate on the vehicle and discovered that the car had been reported stolen in Los Angeles County. The officers then arrested Marcus Wilson, 26, of Simi Valley and booked him into the Ventura County Jail on suspicion of auto theft.
