Pomona Police Arrest Two Men In Motel Murder
Pomona police have arrested two men in connection with the murder of a woman over the weekend. The woman's body was discovered inside a room at the Motel 6 on South Garey Avenue. She suffered several gunshot wounds. Witnesses said they heard several gunshots early Saturday morning and saw two men running away from the motel.
Pomona police received a tip on Saturday that the two suspects were in the area, and police pulled over their car around 6:00 PM Saturday evening. The men fled but were apprehended a short time later. Police recovered a gun inside the vehicle, but further testing will need to be conducted to determine if it was the gun used in the shooting. Police offered no motive for the murder. The two suspects, Albert Martinez, 24, and Cesar Sierra, 31, are being held without bond on suspicion of murder.
Murder charges are the most serious you can face in California. If convicted, you may potentially face the death penalty. Often, a murder charge is accompanied by other charges, like drug crimes, robbery or theft charges. In the course of the investigation, police may violate your search and seizure rights. Depending upon the circumstances of the crime and any previous arrests, you may also face three strikes enhancements.
