Ontario Accident Leads To Insurance Fraud Charge
Paul Fiedler, 39 of Pomona was arrested on felony insurance fraud charges that stem from a vehicle accident that occurred on October 25, 2007. According to police, the suspect was involved in a minor accident, to which the police were not called. At the time, Fiedler had a $1,000 deductible on his car.
After the accident occurred, Fiedler went online and changed his deductible from $1,000 to $125. The next day, he went back online to report the accident, but said that it had occurred on October 26. He also contacted the other driver to try to get him to provide the insurance company with false information about the accident, which the other driver refused to do. Instead, the driver reported the fraud to Fiedler's insurance company.
