Former Neighbor Held In Triple Murder

Former Neighbor Held In Triple Murder
The former neighbor of three murder victims has been formally charged in their 2003 deaths. Robin Kyu Cho, 50, was arrested by Los Angeles Police Department officers on Monday and has been charged with murder in the deaths of Chi Hyon Song, 30; Hyun Woo Song, 2; and Eun Sik Min, 50. The trio was killed on May 5, 2003 in the Song home. The police have not ruled out other participants in the slaying.
Cho first came to the attention of the LAPD after a DNA sample taken from Cho matched evidence found at the crime scene. Cho was arrested and convicted in 2006 of running a Ponzi scheme that defrauded Korean American investors of about $2.5 million between 1998 and 2002. He was convicted of grand theft in that case and was sentenced to 25 days in jail and five years' probation. The prosecutors in the case are considering adding a special circumstance to the murders, which would make Cho eligible for the death penalty if he were convicted.
