San Bernardino Deputy Eyed In Thefts
San Bernardino Deputy Eyed In Thefts
San Bernardino Sheriff's deputies are investigating theft allegations against one of its own officers. Deputies have searched the officer's vehicle, home and locker. According to an affidavit, items that should have been in the Apple Valley station's property room were found in the officer's possession. Items included wallets, jewelry, a digital camera, coins, credit cards and identification belonging to at least two suspects arrested in 2008.
The accused deputy has been relieved of duty while the investigation continues. The accused officer was recently transferred from patrol duty at Apple Valley to the Adelanto Detention Center. The owner of one of the wallets said that he did not report his wallet missing because he assumed that someone at the tow yard had stolen his wallet when his car was towed following an arrest for DUI.
