Two Los Angeles Police Department officers were injured when a Hummer driven by a man who was driving while intoxicated slammed into their patrol car. The driver of the Hummer allegedly ran a stop sign and struck the patrol car near West Avenue 36 and Portner Street. One of the officers suffered a broken leg in the mishap. The other officer was treated for minor injuries and released.
