CHP Arrest Woman For DUI In U-Haul Chase
The California Highway Patrol arrested a woman in connection with a high-speed chase that lasted more than two hours. Alisha Mankin faces charges of being in possession of a stolen vehicle, recklessly evading police officers, DUI and misdemeanor hit-and-run. She also had outstanding warrants related to previous DUI and drug charges.
Mankin and a male companion were driving a U-Haul truck, and were pulled over in Palmdale by a California Highway Patrol officer who was following up on a "suspicious activity" report. The officer detained the male companion, but Mankin jumped back into the vehicle and left the scene.
After leaving Palmdale, the woman drove through downtown Los Angeles and Malibu. Officers eventually arrested Mankin when she abandoned the truck in Ventura County
