Vehicular Manslaughter Charge In Ventura Crash
Vehicular Manslaughter Charge In Ventura Crash
A Ventura resident has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in the death of Travis Lee, 27, an Army reservist who died in a collision while racing Robert Florine. Lee, who was driving a motorcycle, was racing Florine, who was driving a Corvette along Victoria Avenue. Florine says he broke off the race, but Lee continued through an intersection despite a red light for traffic on Victoria. Lee collided with an SUV and was seriously injured in the crash. He died about 90 minutes later at a local hospital. Initially, Florine was given a misdemeanor citation at the scene of the accident, but the charges were later upgraded to felony manslaughter. If convicted, Florine faces up to six years in prison.
