Oxnard Man Convicted of Attempted Murder
A 60-year-old Oxnard man was convicted of attempted murder for a knife assault on his wife. Prosecutors say that Eduardo Mosqueto stabbed his wife of 43 years in front of several witnesses at an Oxnard Post Office following an argument. Prosecutors say that Mosqueto acquired the knife a week before the incident and concealed the 8-inch weapon in his pants prior to the attack.
Mosqueto's wife, Maria Sandoval, testified that Mosqueto often hit her during their marriage. Mosqueto accuses Sandoval of being involved with another man, which Sandoval denied. In addition to stabbing Sandoval once in the chest, Mosqueto also slashed her arms and fingers as she attempted to defend herself.
