Ojai Man Held In Ventura Child Abuse Case
An Ojai man will be tried on Ventura child abuse charges. The alleged abuse was reported to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office by the victim's uncle who said that he noticed new bruising on the 3 year-old boy every few weeks. The uncle also reported that he had seen the child's father, Ernesto Flores, 23, kick the boy on a visit to the boy's home prior to Christmas. Prosecutors also say that the victim's infant sister also had bite mark injuries consistent with abuse.
The boy was questioned by Sheriff's detectives and told them that his father had hit him because he was "being very bad." Flores' wife explained the bite marks on her daughter by saying that Flores had simply kissed his daughter "too hard."
