LA Attorney Indicted In Federal Bribery Sting
A Los Angeles attorney was arrested and charged with obstruction of a grand jury proceeding after federal prosecutors allege that he accepted a bribe to coach a witness to lie to a federal prosecutor and a federal grand jury. Alfred Nash Villalobos of Century City, was charged on Tuesday in US Federal District Court in Los Angeles.
Prosecutors allege that Villalobos told another attorney that his client would lie about his involvement in a case involving immigration fraud in exchange for a cash payment. The other attorney, who represents the target of the investigation, cooperated with the FBI in the matter. Villalobos allegedly accepted a first payment of $53,500 in exchange for his client's testimony and was arrested immediately afterward.
