Murder Suspect Arrested In Riverside County Incident
Murder suspect Lavenski S. Harrell, wanted in connection with a Riverside County home invasion and murder was arrested by Butte County probation officers who were performing a compliance check on another probationer who resides in Chico.
Harrell was discovered in a home with the subject of the compliance check and the subject's 3 year-old daughter. As part of the compliance check, probation officers discovered that Harrell was the subject of two warrants from Riverside County for murder and felony burglary. While searching the residence, officers also found a Glock handgun and ammunition.
Harrell was the last of three siblings to be arrested in connection with the shooting death of Samuel Raye Cotton in February in Desert Hot Springs. Curtis Lee Drake was arrested just three days after the shooting in Cathedral City. Latoya Shontrice Jenkins was arrested in New Jersey in March.
