Murder Charges For San Bernardino Pair
McDaniels and Langston were visiting a home on West Olive Street when the shootings occurred. Walker and Scott were admitted to the home, which was known in the area for its narcotics sales, and tried to rob the occupants. A resident of the home and her adult daughter were forced into a closet during the attack, but were not injured, leading police to believe that the victims were specific targets.
The pair fled in a Dodge Charger that belonged to the victims. The car was later found abandoned just blocks from where the men were eventually arrested.
Walker and Scott each face two counts of murder and one count of residential robbery. In addition, prosecutors have filed several enhancements against the pair, including multiple homicide, use of a firearm, and discharging a firearm. Police also indicated that the suspects have ties to a Long Beach street gang. A third man, Terrence Smith, of San Bernardino, turned himself into police following the shootings, but was not charged in the incident. Police determined that Smith's role in the slayings was indirect and did not warrant prosecution.
