Roommate Arrested In Death Of College Student

The Los Angeles Police Department has made an arrest in the murder of a 24-year old Santa Monica college student in June. Police arrested Steven Hyun Kwon, the victim's roommate, and the last known person to see Min Woo Cho alive.

According to police, Cho and Kwon went to a bar together on June 12, the night Cho disappeared. Police later found Cho's badly decomposed body by an exit ramp near Dodger Stadium. The state of decomposition initially hampered identification of the remains, but family members made a positive identification of Cho's belongings, including clothing, found on and near the remains.

Police did not provide a motive for the killing, but family members of the victim say that Kwon had a known gambling problem, although they never believed that Kwon posed a danger to Cho or anyone else. Kwon was arrested in October and is being held on $2 million bail.
