Man Arrested In Death Of Toddler
A Lancaster man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of killing his girlfriend's 18-month-old daughter. Sharieff Brown is being held on a $1 million bond. Deputies say that they were called to the mother's home and found that the toddler was not breathing. They also reported seeing signs of abuse on the little girl's body. The child was taken to an area hospital, where she was declared dead.
Deputies began to suspect that the death was the result of abuse after the man provided a story that did not fit the apparent facts of the case. Authorities planned to complete an autopsy on the girl on Wednesday, and Brown is expected to be formally charged in the matter today.
